SIKESTON -- Irick A. Poe, 86, of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at his home. He was born Sept. 11, 1910, in Walker County, Ala., son of George Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Bircheat Tipton Poe. He and Pansie McCoy were married Dec. 3, 1938. Poe was a lineman with Scott-New Madrid-Mississippi Electric Co-Op. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. SIKESTON -- Irick A. Poe, 86, of Sikeston died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at his home.

He was born Sept. 11, 1910, in Walker County, Ala., son of George Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Bircheat Tipton Poe. He and Pansie McCoy were married Dec. 3, 1938.

Poe was a lineman with Scott-New Madrid-Mississippi Electric Co-Op. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Poe was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven Poe of West Linn, Ore.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Brian Davis officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
