JACKSON -- William Lee Dubbs, 62, of Jackson died Thursday, Aug. 14, 1997, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born July 24, 1935, in Wakarusa, Ind., son of Samuel Alfred and Sara Wise Dubbs. He and Tasha Douvitsas were married Aug. 10, 1957, in Angola, Ind.

Dubbs attended the University of Michigan. He was head of respiratory therapy at St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights, Ill., 11 years. He moved to Fredericktown, and later to Jackson in September 1976. He was head of neurophysiology at Southeast Hospital 27 years, retiring in June 1997.

He attended Iona Baptist Church, and was a member of St. Mark Masonic Lodge and Jackson Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, George and Steve Dubbs of Jackson; two daughters, Debbie Cato of Cape Girardeau, Angie Cowell of Jackson; two sisters, Blanche Mason of Moulton, Iowa, Mary Sampson of Granger, Iowa; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Dodson officiating. Burial will be in McLains Chapel Cemetery.
