Funeral Mass for Jose H. Mireles of Houston, Texas, will be held at 10 a.m. today at San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas. The Rev. Domingo Castillo will officiate, with burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

Rix Funeral Home in Hereford is in charge of arrangements.

Mireles, 47, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1997, at LBJ Hospital in Houston.

He was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Brownfield, Texas.

Mireles was a carpenter 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Anna Mireles of San Antonio, Texas, Angela Mireles of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Ruben Mireles of Hereford, Joe Mireles of San Antonio, Dillon Mireles of Port Lavaca, Texas; five sisters, Audenia Valdez of Irving, Texas, Nina Gonzalez of Amarillo, Texas, Margaret Cerda of Clovis, N.M., Amalia Mireles of Hereford, Ida Medrano of Brady, Texas; and five grandchildren.
