ADVANCE -- Rachel Lea Shipley, 14, of Advance died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, in an automobile accident on Highway C near Arab. She was born Oct. 10, 1982, at Sikeston, daughter of Jim and Bonnie Jean Senciboy Shipley. Shipley was a freshman at Advance High School. She had been named Most Valuable Player in basketball and volleyball at Oran Junior High School...

ADVANCE -- Rachel Lea Shipley, 14, of Advance died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, in an automobile accident on Highway C near Arab.

She was born Oct. 10, 1982, at Sikeston, daughter of Jim and Bonnie Jean Senciboy Shipley.

Shipley was a freshman at Advance High School. She had been named Most Valuable Player in basketball and volleyball at Oran Junior High School.

Survivors include her father of Zalma; her mother, Bonnie Dowler of Advance; a brother, James Shipley Jr. of Oran; three sisters, Jean Nattier of Perkins, Edith Slagley of Bell City, Bonnie Woods of Advance; maternal grandparents, Harold and Lucille Wyatt Senciboy of Perkins; and paternal stepgrandmother, Fleda Brown Shipley of Sturdivant.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:45-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Teague officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins.
