Alberta Nethington, 91, died Friday, Aug. 22, 1997, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.

She was born March 4, 1906, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Alonzo and Wilhelmina Windisch Foreman. She married Howard L. Nethington, who died in 1961.

Nethington was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She taught at Bonne Terre Public Schools many years.

She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, served as a deaconess, Sunday School teacher, and was a member of Women's Fellowship. She had been a Girl Scout leader and was active in Retired Teachers Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Cooper of Marionville; a son, Bruce Nethington of Kirkwood; a brother, Albert Foreman of Farmington; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 6 at First Congregational Church in Bonne Terre.
