MATTHEWS -- Hershel McWaters, 62, of Matthews died Saturday, Aug. 30, 1997, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born April 20, 1935 in Charter Oak, son of W.L. and Nora Colson McWaters. He had retired as a construction worker from Owens Oil Co. in Illinois.

He is survived by three brothers, Don McWaters of Cookeville, Tenn., W.C. McWaters of Matthews and Ollie McWaters of Ringwood, Okla.; and three sisters, Audrey Newman of Morganton, N.C., Dimple Malloy of Essex and Polly Schuerenberg of Sikeston.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery near Essex.
