DEXTER -- Funeral service was conducted Saturday for Elmer Leroy Yoder, 91, of Dexter.
The Rev. Tim Russell officiated at the funeral, held at the Rainey Funeral Chapel in Dexter.
He died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at the Dexter Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 24, 1906, at Mitchell, Kan., son of Oliver D. and Mary Frances Boone Yoder.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Brethren Church.
He married Ressie Godfrey on Aug. 19, 1936, at Gideon.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Frances Bergen of Cape Girardeau and Carolyn Shomaker of Winona; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three sons, two brothers and a sister.
