DUDLEY -- Rick L. McCarty, 53, of Dudley died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff.

He was born June 18, 1944, in Lansing, Mich., son of Stanley and Elaine McCarty. He married Louis Bryant on June 19, 1997, in Dudley. She survives.

He had lived in Dudley for the past four months and had resided in Omak, Wash., and Rockford, Ill., before that. He worked for 12 years at Omak Wood Products in Omak.

He is survived by four daughters, Wendy Leather and Kelly McCarty, both of Dudley, and Deanna Virant and Mindy Cornella, both of Dexter; a stepson, Bob Leathers of Dudley; six stepdaughters, Joann Hagy of Dexter, Tammy and Ashley Hagy, both of Dudley, Bronda Scarberry and Debbie Leathers, both of Rockford, and Nichole Magarine of Sikeston; three brothers, Steve Johnson and Albert and Joseph Gilbert, all of St. Paul, Minn.; a sister, Robin Leathers of Rockford; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Ira Leathers of Dexter officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
