Hadley S. "Sandy" Fornkohl, 53, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 29, 1997, at the Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 14, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, son of Hadley E. and Vera Sander Fornkohl.
He graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1961. He worked for Missouri Barge Line and was a maintenance man for the Trail of Tears State Park for a time.
He worked for Missouri Dry Dock for 18 years until a disability forced him to retire in the mid-1980s.
He was a lifelong member of the Hanover Lutheran Church and for the past six months had resided at the Heartland Rehab Center.
Prior to that, he lived at the former Deal Nursing Home in Jackson for three years.
Survivors include a son, Jason Fornkohl of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Julie Unterreiner and Laura Perkins, both of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Sippy will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
