JONESBORO, Ill. -- Mary K. Forsythe, 88, of Jonesboro died Thursday, April 3, 1997, at City Care Center in Anna. She was born April 10, 1908, in Union County, daughter of Thomas and Myrtle Morgan Nimmo. She and Charles M. Forsythe were married Dec. 7, 1929, in Rector, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 1976...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Mary K. Forsythe, 88, of Jonesboro died Thursday, April 3, 1997, at City Care Center in Anna.

She was born April 10, 1908, in Union County, daughter of Thomas and Myrtle Morgan Nimmo. She and Charles M. Forsythe were married Dec. 7, 1929, in Rector, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 1976.

The Forsythes owned and operated a restaurant in Portageville, Mo., and later owned and operated a Ben Franklin store in Norris City. They retired in 1974 and moved to Jonesboro. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three nephews, Ronald Nimmo of Blue Springs, Mo., Gary Nimmo of Godfrey, and J.D. Adams of Anna.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Monday.
