CLARA BLEDSOE

SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Clara May Bledsoe of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Dennis Gregory will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bledsoe, 82, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born May 24, 1914, at Chaffee, daughter of John Franklin and Milbrey Collins Little. She and Roscoe Bledsoe were married in 1934 at Sikeston.

Bledsoe had been a presser at Sikeston Laundry.

Survivors include a son, Vernon Bledsoe of Matthews; two daughters, Sug Jones and Sherrill Karnes of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Clara Starnes of Mumford, Tenn.; two sisters, Jewell Taylor of Sikeston, Dollie Brown of Rock Island, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, daughter, four brothers, and two sisters.
