SIKESTON -- Marjorie Doyle, 85, of Sikeston died Monday, April 7, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Sept. 13, 1911, in Jackson, daughter of George M. and Blanche Woods Doyle Sr. Doyle moved to Sikeston from Osceola, Ark. She was a retired teacher, former vice president of Planters Bank, and hosted a radio talk show in Osceola. During World War II she founded the organization for Depression Kids...

SIKESTON -- Marjorie Doyle, 85, of Sikeston died Monday, April 7, 1997, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 13, 1911, in Jackson, daughter of George M. and Blanche Woods Doyle Sr.

Doyle moved to Sikeston from Osceola, Ark. She was a retired teacher, former vice president of Planters Bank, and hosted a radio talk show in Osceola. During World War II she founded the organization for Depression Kids.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Dr. Jim Guffie officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Fruitland.
