WILLIAM SHEFFER

DONGOLA, Ill. -- William Edman Sheffer, 82, of Paducah, Ky., died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

He was born June 24, 1914, at Dongola, son of John and Ida Earnhart Sheffer. He and Iola Sivia were married Dec. 5, 1936, at Donogla.

Sheffer was a retired carpenter, and member of the Church of Christ in Paducah. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Gladys Corrado of Pompano Beach, Fla., Leona Phillips of Glenview, Ill., and Helen Villers of Pueblo, Colo.

He was preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 5-9 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. W.H. McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery near Dongola.
