SAM BLATTEL

KELSO -- Zeno "Sam" Blattel, 83, of Kelso died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at his home.

He was born Aug. 26, 1914, at New Hamburg, son of Antone and Regina Diebold Blattel. He and Theresa Elizabeth Weidenbenner were married Feb. 18, 1941, in St. Louis. She died Aug. 2, 1997.

Blattel was retired from Drury Tile and Plastering. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Zeno "Sam" Blattel Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Margaret Pikey of St. Charles; a brother, Mike Blattel of New Hamburg; two sisters, Cyrilla Davis of St. Louis, Blandine Westrich of Chaffee; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be at 6.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
