EUGENE SCHWEER

JACKSON -- Eugene D. Schweer, 68, of Jackson died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 3, 1928, north of Jackson, son of William "Willie" and Marie Sadler Schweer. He and Wanda L. Martin were married Aug. 8, 1946.

Schweer farmed all his life, and had also worked for Co-Op Service Center, Byrd Township Road District, and was a bus driver with Jackson School District several years.

He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ, and had served as a member of Roberts School board.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry and Bill Schweer of Jackson; a daughter, Barbara Floyd of Jackson; a brother, John Schweer of Springfield, Mass.; a sister, Alice Koeppel of Jackson; a stepbrother, Harold Maintz of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
