OPAL JOHNSON

SIKESTON -- Opal Irean Johnson, 86, of Sikeston died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at Bertrand Retirement Home in Bertrand.

She was born Feb. 3, 1911, in Bucoda, daughter of William Wesley and Willie O'Brian Ferguson. She and Omal Elmer Johnson were married in 1935 at Senath. He died in October 1956.

Johnson was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, Sonny Johnson of Sikeston; a foster daughter, Faye Morgan of Porterville, Calif.; a brother, Herman Ferguson of Diamond Bar, Calif.; a sister, Pauline Hufford of Paragould, Ark.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Terry Carter officiating. Burial will be in Senath Cemetery at Senath.
