EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred Nevada Goers, 69, of East Prairie, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1926, at Matthews, daughter of Otis and Sarah Penrod Black. She and Arthur L. Goers were married May 28, 1955. He died Sept. 23, 1994...

EAST PRAIRIE -- Mildred Nevada Goers, 69, of East Prairie, died Monday, Jan. 1, 1996, at her home.

She was born Sept. 26, 1926, at Matthews, daughter of Otis and Sarah Penrod Black. She and Arthur L. Goers were married May 28, 1955. He died Sept. 23, 1994.

Goers retired as a bookkeeper with Walgreen's Drug in St. Louis. She moved here from Farmington in 1994, and attended First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Krowl of St. Charles, Betty Popp of O'Fallon; three sisters, Dorothy Archer of Pocahontas, Ark., Phyllis Lemons and Alfreda Moore of East Prairie, and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5:30 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. George White officiating. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
