ANNA, Ill. -- Esther Pherigo, 78, of Anna, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Jackson County, daughter of Alvin O. and Polly Deming Collier.

Pherigo formerly owned and operated a tavern.

Survivors include a brother, Wade Collier of Carterville.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Charles Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park near Murphysboro.
