DAVE COMTE

Eugene David "Dave" Comte, 61, 1137 N. Fountain, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at his home.

He was born Oct. 28, 1934, in Murphysboro, Ill., son of Eugene A. and Lillian Marie Mileur Comte. He and Marilyn Phillips were married Dec. 26, 1959.

Comte was employed by the Social Security Administration 30 years, and was manager of the office in Cairo, Ill., 16 years. He retired in 1986.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Murphysboro, and was a past president of Cairo Rotary Club. He served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David Comte of Fort Campbell, Ky.; two daughters, Frances and Jenny Comte of Cape Girardeau; a brother, August Comte of Elkville, Ill., and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and brother.

There is no visitation.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro.

Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro is in charge of arrangements.
