ANNA, Ill. -- Roy Davis, 88, of Anna died Saturday, Feb. 17, 1996, at the Friendship Care Center in Herrin, Ill. He was born Sept. 25, 1907, in Anna to James R. and Amy Hess Davis. In 1938 in Jackson he married Callie West, who died Nov. 22, 1994. He was a member of Streator Baptist Church and was a retired dietary worker with the state of Illinois. ANNA, Ill. -- Roy Davis, 88, of Anna died Saturday, Feb. 17, 1996, at the Friendship Care Center in Herrin, Ill.

He was born Sept. 25, 1907, in Anna to James R. and Amy Hess Davis. In 1938 in Jackson he married Callie West, who died Nov. 22, 1994.

He was a member of Streator Baptist Church and was a retired dietary worker with the state of Illinois. He also worked for the Illinois Highway Department for 20 years.

Survivors are a daughter, Judy Shepherd of Haslett, Mich.; three sisters, Wanda Nimmon of Dongola, Ill., May Schumacher of Carterville, Ill., and Peraon Brown of Anna; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Anna City Cemetery.
