VIRGINIA SWINNEY

DEXTER -- Virginia B. Swinney, 68, of Dexter, died Tuesday, April 9, 1996, in Dexter.

She was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Little Rock, Ark., daughter of Walkey and Susan Kindered McCain. She and Chester E. Swinney were married Aug. 18, 1945, in Sikeston. He died July 12, 1977.

Swinney had lived in Dexter since 1977. She was a shirt presser at Sikeston Laundry and Dry Cleaners. She attended Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include four sons, Bill, Paul and Timmy Swinney of Dexter, Chester Swinney of Gideon; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 4-8 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmy Kirby officiating. Burial will be in New Morley Cemetery at Morley.
