GRADY DARTER

SIKESTON -- Grady N. Darter, 86, of the Miner Nursing Center, formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, April 21, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Sept. 8, 1909, in Atkins, Ark., to William Floyd and Nancy Ellen Burris Darter. He married Mary Paralee Bratton. She died Oct. 5, 1980.

Darter was a retired farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Darter of Imperial, Kenneth Darter of Sikeston and Norman Darter of Dexter; two daughters, Lorene Powell of Morehouse and Vanetta Sindle of Sikeston; seven grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, brother, two sisters, half-brother and half-sister.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Bob Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
