WALTER HICKS

BLOOMFIELD -- Walter Donald Hicks, 66, died Monday, April 22, 1996, at Valparaiso Care Center in Valparaiso, Ind.

He was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Poplar Bluff, son of Walter and Nola Wilson Hicks. He married Sue Black, who died April 1, 1987.

Hicks was formerly of Bloomfield and had worked at Arvin.

Survivors include four sons, Walter Hicks of Hidden Lake, Idaho, Danny and Roger Cochran of Houston, Texas, Darrell Cochran of Fisk; five daughters, Bonnie Solero of East Chicago, Judy and Debbie Hicks of Oklahoma City, Okla., Janet Hicks of Dexter, Kim Hicks of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; his mother, Nola Friday of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Jessie Hicks of Poplar Bluff; four sisters, Doris Andrews and Joyce Waggoner of Poplar Bluff, Wilma Hedrick of Griffith, Ind., Carol Welch of Merrillville, Ind.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ted Elledge and O.S. Elledge officiating. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
