JACKSON -- Joe K. Lowes, 69, of Jackson, died Thursday, May 23, 1996, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis. He was born April 29, 1927, at Jackson, son of William Henry and Luella Johnson Lowes. He and Molly M. Kurre were married July 11, 1954. Lowes was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone 34 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and Telephone Pioneers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

JACKSON -- Joe K. Lowes, 69, of Jackson, died Thursday, May 23, 1996, at Vencor Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born April 29, 1927, at Jackson, son of William Henry and Luella Johnson Lowes. He and Molly M. Kurre were married July 11, 1954.

Lowes was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone 34 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158, and Telephone Pioneers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barbara Lowes of St. Louis; two sisters, Grace Overbeck of Fenton, Helen Penrose of Jackson; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
