EMILY SHEPHERD

SIKESTON - Emily Shepherd, 74, of Matthews died Friday, May 24, 1996, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Aug. 13, 1921, at Bardwell, Ky., daughter of Thomas and Dessie Fraser Shepherd.

She had lived in Matthews 10 years. She previously lived in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau.

She worked at Wagner Electric Co in St. Louis and was a licensed cosmetologist. She was a member of the Rauch-Spence Memorial United Methodist Church in Morehouse. She was president of the United Methodist Women at Morehouse and had served as president of the Canalou Women's Club and chairperson of the Friend Lunch Club.

Survivors include a sister, Mattie Gruen of Matthews; a niece, Mary Ann Robinson of Poplar Bluff; and two nephews, Will Gruen of Farmington and Mark Nickelson of Montgomery, Ala.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Service will be held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. today, with the Rev. Jerry L. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Old Bardwell Cemetery at Bardwell.
