DONGOLA, Ill. -- Dock Perry Toler, 92, of Dongola, died Monday, May 27, 1996, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. He was born June 2, 1903, in Union County, son of Sam and Lillian Smitty Toler. He and Ethel Turner were married Dec. 20, 1924. She died April 27, 1989...

DONGOLA, Ill. -- Dock Perry Toler, 92, of Dongola, died Monday, May 27, 1996, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

He was born June 2, 1903, in Union County, son of Sam and Lillian Smitty Toler. He and Ethel Turner were married Dec. 20, 1924. She died April 27, 1989.

Toler was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of First Baptist Church here.

Survivors include two sons, Joe Toler of Galatia, Jerry Toler of Peoria; three daughters, Barbara Casey of Dongola, Bonnie Gibbs of Herod, Carolyn Modglin of Ullin; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lucien Bozarth officiating. Burial will be in Dongola American Legion Cemetery.
