EDGAR O. MEYER

NEW WELLS -- Edgar O. Meyer, 79, of New Wells died Saturday, July 6, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 20, 1916, in New Wells, the son of Theodore and Bertha Steiner Meyer. He married Meta Kahnert on June 11, 1939.

Meyer was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of New Wells and held several offices. He was a farmer and worked as an insurance sales representative for Community Mutual Insurance Co. for more than 30 years and served on the company's board of directors until his death.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Norman Meyer of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Dorothy McCutchin of St. Louis and Carolyn Krijci of Brigham City, Utah; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
