JACKSON -- Jimmy D. Parker, 57, of Jackson died Monday, July 8, 1996, at his home. He was born May 21, 1939, in Isola, Miss., the son of Horace and Marie Smith Parker. He married Zelda Whittington on May 26, 1967. JACKSON -- Jimmy D. Parker, 57, of Jackson died Monday, July 8, 1996, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1939, in Isola, Miss., the son of Horace and Marie Smith Parker. He married Zelda Whittington on May 26, 1967.

Parker worked at Marquette Transportation in Cassville, Wis., from 1979-89 and then for Missouri Barge Lines in Cape Girardeau from 1991-1996 as a chief engineer.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Dale Parker of Jackson, Mark Parker of Oran, Michael Parker of Knoxville, Tenn., and Matthew Parker of Salem, Ore.; two daughters, Ann Farrow of Jackson and Debbie Taylor of Denton, Texas; four brothers, Jerry Parker of Clinton, Okla., and A.C. Parker, Steve Clark and Junior Clark of Greenville, Miss.; three sisters, Kathleen Skelton of Step Rock, Ark., and Gayle Williams and Faye Simpson of Greenville, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Don Slaton officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery east of Pocahontas.
