JACKSON -- Ray H. Friedrich, 89, Jackson Route, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1996, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1907, at Jackson, son of August H. and Martha Ann Snider Friedrich. He and Elsie Rapp were married Sept. 2, 1928. She died Feb. 6, 1969. He later married Elsie Cotner Gass Feb. 3, 1970.
Friedrich farmed west of Jackson. He was a former member and council member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Fruitland, becoming a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church in 1988. He served on the board of the former Clippard School west of Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Paul Ray Friedrich of Jackson; two brothers, V.C. and George Friedrich of Jackson; two sisters, Elsie Barrett and Margaret Goodson of Jackson; two stepsons, Donald Gass of Troy, Charles "Chuck" Gass of Arnold; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren, and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, brother, two sisters and a stepgrandson.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
