BETTY WELKER

MARBLE HILL -- Betty Jean Welker, 64, of Marble Hill, died Monday, Aug. 12, 1996, at her home.

She was born April 21, 1932, at Mayfield, daughter of Charles and Delcie Hanners Newell. She and Charles Edward Welker were married May 15, 1957. He died Dec. 20, 1991.

Welker was a member of Post Oak Congregational Methodist Church at Patton.

Survivors include a son, Rocky Welker of Sedgewickville; two daughters, Rhonda Massa and Jackie Long of Marble HIll; two brothers, Dan Newell of Jackson, Lynn Newell of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Joyce Kirn of Jackson, Ruth Maddock of Marble Hill; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, a brother and a grandson.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill after 4 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Sander officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery near Marble Hill.
