JACKSON -- Hazel Haynes, 76, of Jackson, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 7, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John O. and Caroline Green Seabaugh. She and Joseph Vincent Haynes were married April 6, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.

Haynes attended Jackson High School and Cape Girardeau Business College. She studied interior design and architecture with LaSalle Extension University in Chicago, and took a real estate course in Alexandria, Va. She had also signed up for courses under the Senior Learning Program for Older Adults at Southeast Missouri State University.

She had worked at Central Packing Co. in Cape Girardeau, International Shoe Co. and Selective Service Office, both in Jackson. She worked in the activities and social services department at Cape LaCroix Manor in Cape Girardeau 8 years, retiring in 1984.

Haynes did various volunteer work, including nurse's aide at old St. Francis Hospital, helping flood and hurricane victims, helped the Salvation Army and Red Cross, and helped at Jackson Nutrition Center.

She moved to Jackson in 1972 from Alexandria.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Rose of Burke, Va.; three brothers, Jerry, J.B. and William Seabaugh of Jackson, Otto Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, and Eugene Seabaugh of Oak Ridge.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Mausoleum, with the Rev. Ernest Jordan officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
