EAST PRAIRIE -- Birdie May Wiggins, 89, of St. Louis, formerly of East Prairie, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996, at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis.

She was born April 2, 1907, in Dublin, Ky., daughter of A.B. and Jenny Lathum Harrell. She and Ed Wiggins were married Dec. 7, 1925. He preceded her in death.

Wiggins had lived in St. Louis 50 years.

Survivors include a son, Verlon Wiggins of Champaign, Ill.; a daughter, Virginia Barber of St. Louis, and a brother, Phines Harrell of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 3 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Burl Britt officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
