CYPRESS, Ill. -- Earl Penrod, 86, of Cypress died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1996, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis. He was born Dec. 3, 1909, in Dongola, son of Daniel and Ella Mowery Penrod. Penrod was a cattle buyer.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Hermann of Hampshire; a son, Danny Penrod of Cypress; three sisters, Wilma Kestler and Louise Felts of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Nadean Hunkey of St. Louis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak from 5-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Tom Snell and Jay Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.
