VIRGINIA DEWEESE
SIKESTON -- Virginia DeWeese, 84, of Sikeston died Monday, Sept. 2, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1912, in Bertrand, daughter of Thomas L. and Minnie E. Golightly Lett. She and Richard O. "Dick" DeWeese were married Nov. 11, 1937, in Charleston. She was born April 1, 1912, in Bertrand, daughter of Thomas L. and Minnie E. Golightly Lett. She and Richard O. "Dick" DeWeese were married Nov. 11, 1937, in Charleston. He died March 5, 1960.
DeWeese was a member of Bertrand United Methodist Church and Sikeston Chapter 137 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a brother, Robert Lett of Southerland Springs, Texas; four sisters, June Couch of Florissant, Jane Lucas of Grayslake, Ill., Lucille Jackson of Charleston, and Ann Britt of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bertrand United Methodist Church. The Revs. Charles E. Buck and Fred Leist will officiate. Private burial will be later in Oak Grove Cemetery at Charleston.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
