Irene Marie Strack, 93, 714 S. Sprigg, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, at her home.

She was born Aug, 19, 1903, at Kelso, daughter of Louis and Mary Drury Dannenmueller. She and Theon Strack were married June 11, 1928 at Caruthersville. He died April 9, 1988.

Strack was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She taught at Kelso and other rural schools in Southeast Missouri. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1957 from Amory, Miss. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Gearing, and a sister, Eva Essner, both of Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 7:30.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
