SILVER SPRINGS, Md. -- Dora Kinder Turnage died Monday, Sept. 2, 1996, at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Springs. She was born Dec. 16, 1905, daughter of Clay and Annie Hicks Kinder of Jackson.

She had been a resident of Washington the past 51 years and prior to that lived in Jackson.

Turnage taught elementary school in Charleston and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring in 1968.

She is survived by two daughters, Vivian Horrell Barnes of Washington and Frances Ann Horrell of Silver Springs.

Two sons preceded her in death.

Graveside service will be today at 10 a.m. at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Arrangements are by McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. There will be no visitation.
