ULLIN, Ill. -- Elsie Kesler, 88, of Ullin died Monday, Sept. 16, 1996, at her home.

She was born Oct. 23, 1907, in Union County, daughter of Arley and Luetta Karraker Sheffer. She and Lionel "Doc" Kesler were married Dec. 26, 1923. He died Feb. 25, 1977.

Kesler and her husband operated Kesler's Cafe many years. She had also been a mail carrier and newspaper carrier. She was a member of Wetaug Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Glenn and Kenneth Kesler of Ullin; a sister, Arletta Bradshaw of Tamms; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin from 6-9 p.m today.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ullin Cemetery, with Ronnie Gulley officiating.
