ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral service for Verneal Cobb of Anna will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro. The Rev. Bon Reynolds will officiate, with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to service time.

Cobb, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at Union County Hospital.

She was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Union County, daughter of Zachary and Eva Lindsey Barker. She and Dexter Cobb were married in 1946 in Chicago. He died Dec. 18, 1966.

Cobb was a member of VFW Auxiliary in Anna.

Survivors include two daughters, Emma Reynolds and Cheryl Davis of Jonesboro; three sons, Larry Cobb of Anna, Ty and Jerry Cobb of Buncombe; three brothers, Loren Barker of Vienna, Leonard and Raymond Barker of Anna; a sister, Velma Fear of Anna; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
