WARDELL -- Earnest Dan Long, 49, Wardell Route 1, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 8, 1946, at Wardell, son of Stephan and Elizabeth Baker Long. He and Edith Fowler were married in August 1966 in Cape Girardeau. She died Feb. 24, 1995.

Long was a heavy equipment operator with Little River Drainage District. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include two sons, Douglas Long of Wardell, Daniel Long of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Susan Long of the home; his mother of Wardell; five brothers, Oscar and Robert Long of Wardell, Lucky Long of St. Louis, Steve Long of Tallapoosa, Donald Long of Portageville; a sister, Mary Long of Wardell; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wardell, with the Rev. Kevin Carter officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
