COBDEN, Ill. -- Cretie A. Schlichting, 83, of Cobden died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at her home.

She was born Sept. 16, 1913, in Grand Chain, daughter of Albert and Ola Eddleman Hiatt. She and Arthur J. Schlichting were married Feb. 16, 1935, in Anna. He died Sept. 16, 1988.

Schlichting was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Anna.

Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Schlichting of Cobden, Mary Edwards, Alice Mayberry and Bonnie Wright of Anna, Betty Simmons of Marion; a sister, Flora Wilson of Deer Creek; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Kollmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cobden Cemetery.
