ANNA, Ill. -- Barbara Glover Smith, 59, of Birmingham, Mich., died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

She was born March 20, 1937, at Blue Island, Ill, daughter of Charles and Ethel Parr Glover. She and Dean Smith were married.

Smith was employed by Kmart as a management training professional. She was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church and was active as the pianist and children's choir director. She was a graduate of the University of Illinois.

Survivors include a daughter, Julie Dean Smith of Ann Arbor, Mich; a son, Edward B. Smith II, and grandson, Edward B. Smith III, both of Dallas; her mother, Ethel Glover, and sister, Joyce Glover, both of Anna.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

There is no visitation.

A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Anna Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Sullins will officiate. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
