Private funeral service for Carolyn Sue Pooker of Columbia was held Wednesday in Columbia. Pooker, 55, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at her home, from an aneurism. She was born May 7, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of G.E. and Marie Doggett LaPlante. She was raised by her grandparents, Dr. Sylvester and Ada Doggett. She and Jack L. Private funeral service for Carolyn Sue Pooker of Columbia was held Wednesday in Columbia.

Pooker, 55, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1996, at her home, from an aneurism.

She was born May 7, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of G.E. and Marie Doggett LaPlante. She was raised by her grandparents, Dr. Sylvester and Ada Doggett. She and Jack L. Pooker were married Dec. 23, 1960, in Cape Girardeau.

Pooker was a graduate of Central High School and attended the University of Missouri School of Nursing. She was a former owner of the Glenn House.

She currently owned Pooker Affordable Antiques and Collectibles and was a partner with her husband in the Jack L. Pooker and Co. personnel consulting and recruiting firm.

The family was planning to return to Cape Girardeau in 1997.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jack Pooker Jr. of Chicago, Randall and Derek Pooker of Columbia; four daughters, Melinda Finnegan, Jennifer, Holly and Kristin Pooker, all of Columbia.
