PUXICO -- Alfred Beeman, 84, of Puxico died Thursday, Oct. 10, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 29, 1912, in St. James, the son of Roy and Minnie Carter Beeman. On April 6, 1940, in St. Louis, he married Verna Walker. She died Sept. 23, 1985.

Beeman had lived in St. James and St. Louis before moving to Puxico, where he lived the past 38 years. He attended the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Morgan of Puxico; two brothers, James Beeman of St. Louis and Clarence Beeman of Overland; three sisters, Lena Brewer, Olive Helzer and Hazel McIntosh, all of St. James; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Puxico Cemetery.
