Funeral service for Mabel Ruth Pulliam of Kansas City will be held at 1 p.m. today at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Kansas City. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Terrace Park, with Mt. Moriah Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pulliam, 83, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996, at North Kansas City Hospital.

She was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Paragould, Ark. She and Chester Pulliam were married 66 years ago.

Pulliam moved to Kansas City in 1994 from Cape Girardeau. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church and its United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Chester Pulliam Jr. of Fayetteville, Ark.; four daughters, Patsy Whittenburg of Advance, Flora Hall of St. Joseph, Jeanette Singleton of the home, Sharon Borden of Senatobia, Miss.; a brother, Lewis Simpson of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Pauline Thornton of the home, Betty Cato of Marquand; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
