ADVANCE -- Harold "Charles" Sherman, 68, of Advance died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of W. G. and Fern Francis Sherman. He was a self-employed construction crane operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Advance, where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0114 in Sikeston.,...

ADVANCE -- Harold "Charles" Sherman, 68, of Advance died Friday, Oct. 11, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Cape Girardeau County, son of W. G. and Fern Francis Sherman.

He was a self-employed construction crane operator. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Advance, where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0114 in Sikeston.,

He married Patsy Proffer on Sept. 8, 1951, at Dexter. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Keith Sherman of Dexter; a daughter, Pamela Turpin of Warrensburg; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Sherman and Jerry Sherman.

Service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with the Rev. Clinton Woodfin officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.

Friends may call between 5 and 8 p.m. today.
