Melvin Schwab of St. Louis died suddenly Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, in St. Clair. Schwab grew-up in Cape Girardeau and was an outstanding athlete. Survivors include two sons, Charles and Jon Schwab; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many cousins in the Cape Girardeau area.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Groghan Chapel. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
