SIKESTON -- Lois LeVrier Tompa, 84, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at her home. She was born April 17, 1912, in South Houston, Texas, daughter of Franklin Pierce and Grace Sivells Davis. She married Joseph Tompa, who died in 1969. Tompa taught speech and English at Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas, and had also been a registrar. She moved to Sikeston in 1987. SIKESTON -- Lois LeVrier Tompa, 84, of Sikeston died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at her home.

She was born April 17, 1912, in South Houston, Texas, daughter of Franklin Pierce and Grace Sivells Davis. She married Joseph Tompa, who died in 1969.

Tompa taught speech and English at Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas, and had also been a registrar. She moved to Sikeston in 1987. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Loraine Geers of Sikeston; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Baptist Church. Her son-in-law, the Rev. Tom Geers, will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Houston.
