PEARL SOUTH

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Pearl South, 84 of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 1996, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center.

She was born April 5, 1912, at Fountain Bluff, daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Johnson Barton. She and Clarence South were married May 1, 1936, in Pinckneyville. He died June 6, 1995.

South was a member of Gorham Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include a son, Jerry South of Jonesboro; a sister, Edna Dobbs of Marion; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Garnett Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
