Memorial service for Kathryne Ann Clark of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Ken Jarvis will officiate, with burial in Sikeston City Cemetery.

Clark, 91, died Saturday, Dec. 21, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Nov. 13, 1905, in Chelsea, Okla., daughter of John and Cordelia Phillips Clark.

Clark was a 1926 graduate of Sikeston High School and was a member of the first Girl Scout troup in Sikeston. She attended St. Louis Conservatory of Music; Southeast Missouri State University; the Academy of Music in London, England; and the Institute Allende in San Miguel, Mexico.

She played for the silent movies at Sikeston and Charleston theaters, and taught piano and organ 25 years in her home. She played piano for the Kiwanis Club 44 years, and in 1966 became an honorary member of Sikeston Kiwanis.

Clark was assistant organist at First United Methodist Church 20 years, and played at Concordia Lutheran Church and Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church. She played 16 years for the Southeast Missouri Shrine Horse Shows, and donated playing time for many community events. She received the Harvester Award for outstanding service from the Chamber of Commerce in 1969.

She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau since 1979. She was historian for SEMO Kennel Club, past member of Business and Professional Women's Club, and past vice president of Apollo Music Club.

Survivors include two nephews, B.K. Werner of St. Louis and E. Louis Werner Jr. of Scottsdale, Ariz.
