Weldon H. "Slim" Politte, 68, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, at Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 16, 1927, in Elvins, son of Albert Ross and Viola Mae Black Politte. He and Ima Jean Horton were married Oct. 18, 1947, in Elvins. She died Feb. 19, 1982...

Weldon H. "Slim" Politte, 68, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, May 3, 1995, at Heartland Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born March 16, 1927, in Elvins, son of Albert Ross and Viola Mae Black Politte. He and Ima Jean Horton were married Oct. 18, 1947, in Elvins. She died Feb. 19, 1982.

Politte was chief operating engineer with KFVS-TV from 1956-82. He was a member of First General Baptist Church and Cape Bowling League.

Survivors include a daughter, Gayla Brown-DeCastro of LaCenter, Ky.; a brother, Lindell Politte; two sisters, Jennell Rowe of Camdenton, Donna DeClue of Park Hills; a grandson, and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
